IJHS boys’ track and field takes the field–and the Blue Division

The Indiana Boys triumphed at the WAADA Junior High Track and Field Championships on Saturday under the coaching of IJHS coaches Mrs. Candice Lockard and Mr. Jeff Duffee, senior high coach Mr. Scott Mossgrove, and community member Mr. Aaeron Sykes.. 

The boys scored 79 points to win the Blue Division.  Stanford Webb won both the boys Long Jump and High Jump and placed second in the 100 meter dash.  Webb also teamed up with Rocco Cosentino, Quinn Lipniskis and Mark Collinger to place first in the 4×100 meter relay. 

Caiden Cardelli took 2nd place in the 800 meter dash, 3rd in the 400 meters, and teamed with Cosentino, Josh Roumfort and Carter Putt to place second in the 3200 meter relay.  Cardelli also was part of the third place 4×400 meter relay that included Cosentino, Roumfort and Chase Cardelli.  In addition to his three relay medals, Rocco Cosentino placed fourth in the 400 meter dash. Mark Collinger also placed second in the Triple Jump.

The Indiana Girls team placed fourth with 29 points.  Sarah Fisher earned a 3rd place medal in the discus.  Rayna Sleigh placed fourth in the shot put.  Alexa Wheeler placed  4th in the pole vault. Hannah Cowburn placed 5th in the 100 meter hurdles, and Addy Fry placed 6th in the 400 meter dash. The team of Maggie Cunningham, Lucia Clark, Kate Mill and Eve Kuzneski placed third in the 4×100 meter relay.  Kuzneski also teamed up with Rachel Gill, Sydney Anderson and Addy Fry to place third in the 3200 meter relay.  Additionally the team of Kuzneski, Fry, Hannah Cowburn and Emily Ferraro placed 5th in the 4×400 meter relay. 

The teams wrap up their season on Wednesday at home against Penn Hills.
