BY ABIGAIL DESALVO–At the end of the 2018-2019 school year, some of IJHS’s beloved teachers retired after long, rewarding careers. Students wished Mr. Scott Salser, Mrs. Linda Lare-Lansberry, Mr. Jeff Reed, and Mr. Kevin Freeberg joyous next chapters in their lives.
After a long-awaited summer break, the 2019-2020 school year crept up on IJHS. The class of 2023 moved on to the senior high, and the class of 2026 moved in to the junior high.
Some students were eager for the school year, while others dreaded the early mornings and new school work awaiting.
Landen LaBare (6th) says, “It’s fun, being at the junior high. It’s a big change. I really like how we get to change classes and meet new teachers. I have finally mastered opening my locker. I am really excited for the rest of the year!”
“Yeah, I like being at the Junior High. I really like having 40 minute classes. I like the junior high a lot better than elementary school.” Said Jayla Peterson (6th)
“I am thriving in the junior high,” said Joy Christian (7th). “My favorite part about school is getting to see my friends. I am excited for 8th grade.”
J’Dell Scott (7th) said, “Yea, I’m excited for the rest of the year. My favorite part of the day is Flex. I guess I am ready for 8th grade.”
